Who am I letting into my home?

Your home is your safe place, we are a family run business who have built a fantastic reputation within the industry. Everyone at Sayclean has been fully DBS checked and certificates can be provided upon request. We realise you have children and/or vulnerable people in your home and we want to make sure you're letting someone inside your home who is safe and is respectful.

Why should I use Sayclean to clean my carpets?

We have an understanding with our customers. We have a huge duty of care over you, your families and the items that you want cleaned when you let us 'strangers' into your home, hence why we have ALL necessary insurances and DBS checks, available upon request. We realise your carpets, rugs, car upholstery and home upholstery are expensive items and can be extremely delicate and need to be cleaned with this consideration. We aim to build relationships with our customers, we want to continue on for another 10 years and grow to provide our professional service to more and more people. Also some of our customers have their own businesses that we have supported in the past too!

Who are the NCCA and how can they help me?

The NCCA are the National Carpet Cleaners Association. Put simply they are regulators of the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry, recognised by the UK government to eliminate any 'cowboys' and 'rogue traders' within the industry. The benefits of being affiliated are mostly for your peace of mind. In order to become a member you must be fully trained, fully insured, fully qualified and show proof of all 3. Your carpets and upholstery are the most expensive soft furnishing in your house. Letting an untrained, unqualified and inexperienced cheap cleaner on your expensive carpets and upholstery can be risky. The NCCA provide cleaners you can TRUST.

Why can’t you give me a price per room?

Every room is a different size. Your lounge may be ‘average size’ but what is average to you may be small to us and large to someone else. We charge per square foot, that square foot requires assessing, vacuuming, pre-spraying, the pile to be restored, steam cleaned, stains to be removed, furniture to be moved, moved back, furniture protectors, possibly stain guarded or deodorised, dried, then pile brushed. This single square foot could take us 1 minute and 20ml of chemicals to clean properly or it could take 4-5 minutes and 80ml of chemicals to clean properly. We have cleaned a lounge that has been 85 square foot and another lounge that has been over 400 square foot. The time to clean one differs vastly from the other, which means more time and more chemical. A large car will cost more to clean than a small car.

Why can another carpet cleaning company give me a price per room?

There are a couple of methods that other cleaners use to 'get their foot in the door'. One is called the bait and switch method. Advertise something at a cheaper rate, then once in your home, use pressure tactics to increase the amount of money, as seen on BBC's rogue traders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDQLwJoU0B8
The second is there will be charges for 'additional' options, such as drying, moving furniture, pilebrushing, stain removals, vacuuming etc, costing you more than you anticipated. If any of these steps are missed as far as we're concerned the clean has not been carried out properly and the carpets will still be dirty underneath.

Are the carpets left wet and can I walk on them straight away?

For our particular process of cleaning we say that the carpets are left mildly damp and drying can take around 4-8 hours (slightly longer if you have them stain guarded or deodorised), we actually use driers at no additional cost to leave the carpets as dry as possible before we leave. We also issue all of our customers with as many shoe protectors as they need in the meantime so you can walk on it straight away.

How long do the carpets and upholstery take to dry?

Drying times vary depending on whether you want just a standard clean or you would like the carpets stain guarded at the end. We use driers on our cleans so we say an average drying time is between 4 to 6 hours in most cases. Heavily soiled carpets that require more 'cleaning' do take longer to dry. Upholstery also varies between 6 to 12 hours to dry.

Is it cheaper to get everything cleaned at once?

Absolutely! We recommend that if you need to get your lounge cleaned now but want to get your bedrooms, stairs, landing, dining room and upholstery cleaned at a later date to get it cleaned all at once. We have multi room discount offers running all the time so getting more than 2 rooms cleaned at once will be much cheaper than getting  the lounge cleaned then others at a later date. Our complete care plan is ideal for this situation. We can clean what you want now then in 6 months time come back and clean everything else!

If you clean my carpets and upholstery and I am unsatisfied with the results, what happens then?

If we clean a carpet that has not cleaned up as well as we think it can we will clean it again completely free. We make it very clear to our customers that there isn't 1 chemical or cleaning company that can get every single stain out. All we can do is try our best which more often than not exceeds peoples expectations. We have never had to refund anybody their money but if anybody were that unhappy we would do so without question. If you are still unsatisfied with the service we have provided you can then contact the NCCA and we will be disciplined and our membership status will be reviewed by them.
